Web 2.0 Redo (For some reason I couldn't find my first post)

Wordle

Wordle was created by Jonathan Feinberg who defines his Web 2.0 program as, “cloud layout algorithms while working on a social bookmarking application at IBM Research”. Wordle was created in 2008. It is used to creatively express words and thoughts. For example, last year in 8th grade Literature, we had to write a paragraph on a character from a book. Then we had to put it into Wordle and turn it in. A lot of different people use Wordle. Some people use it for school assignments like I did and some people use it for fun. Since I am not huge in the Web 2.0 tools, I use Wordle for school assignments.

Atlanta Ballet!

I was looking at my ballet my subscriptions on my reader, when I came across pictures of a show they are working on that Jonah Hooper had taken. I love looking at their pictures, so I click on the link. After, clicking around and getting ot the page, I noticed that the performance was outside. During the summer, I went to the Royal Dance Academy, where Christian Clack had taught. In our partnering class, he taught us a piece that he was choreographing for a show outside. I looked at the list of pieces and I saw the dance! There were also some pictures on the website and it looked really cool. I would be so much fun to go and see the show!!! Click here to view the website.

The History of Computer

Before reading this article, I had no idea how PC formed. In the 1970s, Ed Roberts started selling computer kits to everyone’s surprise they were a huge hit.  I didn’t know how the different technology programs like Windows or Mac formed. After Ed sold those computers, these big companies formed and built these computers and started to improve on them. They have been improving them ever since. Now we have these computers, one of which I am using right now that are just 40years of improving. They still have the same parts such as the hard drive, the memory, and the mother board, but everything is constantly improving from what was built 40 years ago.

Stretch Task - Reagen Leimbach

I knew that viruses were bad. I knew that they could do things seriously damage your computer. I knew that people created them, but I didn’t know how many different types there were. I didn’t know that viruses road “piggyback” on other programs through emails and downloaded programs. I only knew a worm to be the living organisms that lives in the ground. I had no idea that a worm was a virus that transferred through the security holes. I had heard of a Trojan Horse in Greek history, but had no idea that it was also in technology. I also had no idea about the different reasons for why people create viruses, but I don’t know if I will ever understand people’s reasons for doing anything. This article was very informative and I learned a lot.

Technology has really expanded over 30 years

WOW! I just read an article for Computer Applications that compared a new computer that just came out to a 30 year old computer. Technology has really grown. I don't think they had blogging 30 years ago. Computers were expensive and mainly for storing important documents. Now they are still used to process documents, but are also used for so much more like entertainment, keeping in touch with friends, and seeing and learning about the world right from your home. They have also changed sizes. The newest are easy to transport and all wireless while the old is hooked up to stay. Who know where technology will be in 30 years?
